 UC Davis M.I.N.D. Institute
Clinical Trials for Adolescents

There are several, new clinical drug trials being done at the M.I.N.D. Institute by members of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  These studies are helpful to families who as a result of their insurance status may not have ready access to treatment or a significant level of monitoring.  A brief list of the specific disorders we will be investigating in these double-blind, placebo-controlled studies is provided below:

  • Bipolar Disorder (ages 10 to 17 years)

  • Schizophrenia (ages 13 to 17 years)

  • Major Depressive Disorder (ages 12 to 17 years)

  • PTSD (ages 6 to 17)

Three cognitive behavioral therapy sessions will be administered before entry into the study.

Benefits of Participating in Our Study

  • Consistent weekly monitoring of patient’s progress with respect to disorder
  • We will provide the patient with a comprehensive evaluation including:
    • Biological lab assessment
    • Physical evaluation
    • Blood work & ECGs
  • Possibility of participating in an extension study
  • In a best-case scenario, research often involves a procedure or medication that may benefit the subjects by ameliorating their conditions or providing a better understanding of their disorders.
