Support Save Pine Tree Gardens during Mental Illness Awareness Week
Pine Tree Gardens, Supported Residential Housing for People Living with Mental Illness
NAMI Yolo County, in partnership with the Save Pine Tree Gardens Committee and the UC Davis Campus Community Book Project, is hosting a virtual Mental Illness Awareness Week and raising funds to support individuals living with mental illness at the Pine Tree Gardens homes.
Pine Tree Gardens (PTG) are two adult residential facilities in Davis, CA, housing 28 people. These two board and care residences are the only homes in Yolo County for people with serious and persistent mental illness and are a highly-valued community resource.
The Save Pine Tree Gardens Committee is raising funds during Mental Illness Awareness Week to landscape the backyards of Pine Tree Gardens West and East, which is important in a normal year to provide respite areas but especially important when shelter-in-place orders are in effect. It will create a soothing space for residents, as well as gardening areas.
