Speaker:
Hendry Ton, M.D., M.S., Associate Vice Chancellor of Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at UC Davis Health
Description: Dr. Hendry Ton, Associate Vice Chancellor for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at UC Davis, presents on mental health and resilience. The UC Davis Campus Community Book Project—a signature initiative of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion—will introduce the 2020-2021 program featuring Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo and Me by Ellen Forney, a graphic memoir about bipolar disorder.
The Campus Community Book Project promotes dialogue and builds community by encouraging diverse members of the UC Davis campus and surrounding communities to read the same book and attend related events. The book project—now in its nineteenth year in 2020-2021—advances the mission to improve both the campus climate and community relations, to foster diversity, and to promote equity and inclusiveness. More information on the 2020-2021 program, which focuses on the theme of mental health, can be found on the book project Events page.
