NAMI Yolo County’s Family Information & Referral Service Telephone provides information, referral and support to all who have questions about or are affected by serious mental illness. We use an answering service. Please leave a message along with a phone number where you can be reached. A NAMI member will get in touch with you with help, information and support.
Trained volunteers provide information, referrals, and support to all who have questions about or are affected by serious mental illness.
Information: we provide general (non-professional) information on illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression; issues affecting children, adolescents & young families; general questions about medication; NAMI programs (such as Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer); NAMI policy positions (such as mental health parity … and a whole lot more!
Referral: to support groups and to other organizations serving the needs of those affected by serious mental illness
Support: from trained volunteers – consumers and family members – who know what it’s like and who’ve “been there”!
The Helpline does not provide counseling, legal advice, medical advice, or direct referrals to professionals (psychiatrists, attorneys, etc.). We are volunteers who wish to share NAMI’s general information and experience with serious mental illness.
